Snout Masks | A tryst

Two new additions to the Snout Mask family by Felix B.Q. and Andrea Cavarra, recently created at Cavarra's workshop in Piazza Repubblica in Milan.

Initially conceived for choreographic writing and character development for dance (Carnal 2013), these little leather babies are big players. They cover mouth and nose, but can crawl all over the body and breathe potential movement. Keyed into a psychological funnel Snout Masks generate rhythm, provide accents and, as in writing, become the fabric of narrative construction.

Diogenes is specific for a theatre monologue, an expansion of ¡Lazaro! Creative Universe.

Shemira, instead, is created for Manuela Bernasconi's future dance solo piece, "Solo Bêtes d' Amour." Work will begin in April in Vevey, Switzerland. The use of this mask will be the initial part of the creative process, generating character and detail into story. "Solo Bêtes d' Amour" taps into both ¡Lazaro! and Carnal Creative Universes.

The pinnacle of our amnesiac civilisation is reaching its peak, nothing is certain anymore, everything is in motion. Believe. Open up the universe. Roll up space like a piece of leather. What you call reality is just a majestic illusion to fulfil your life's potential.
