A dynamic approach to information circuits, pattern association, to develop and implement advanced, available and expansive creative technology.
For about a decade I have been closely working with masks and creative processes. A mask is a psycomotive map of information that can generate character as well as story. This has taken me to develop my work in relation to a mask as a means of writing.
I have subsequently focused on generating Creative Universes, an expanding set of elements that co-exist in a dynamic relationship that can generate a number of specific productions (theatre, dance, music, film, performance, plastic art, etc.) and become commercially viable. The way the elements within a Creative Universe combine, mix, and propose action, is unique for each production and the artists involved.
Today we have at disposal a vast array of information and metadata, as well as incredible resources in research, technology as well as deep learning capabilities that can eventually open new frontiers in AI.
Combining elements for social and commercial benefits is certainly the main concern of associative dynamic systems, such as Facebook, Google, etc.
But how a closed system of elements, in relation to the multiple expanding space that is the web today, can design a mask for a users’ creative potential to generate and experience a story is still a territory that needs exploration. A dynamic solution of information allows for new bridges or couplings of relationship, from the use of intuition to integrating vacuum as response to an accelerating information availabitily. As creators, we are only scratching the surface in associative creative patterns. Story is analogous to reality.
I am, however, not explicitly attached to a story, but rather to mustering the spirit that generates it. As Gaston Bachelard would suggest, the image behind the image.
In this context, a mask system as I am addressing this startup for research, becomes a living organism of content that reacts (but also proposes) to its user to generate, through the specifics of the system’s dynamic experience, a new story, again specific to the user.
In its practicality the use of virtual reality as well as video game technology, image recognition, augmented reality, etc., are all starting points of construction through movement, cognitive association and repetition, that lead to a full mask experience.
A mask system is an open ended way of using imagination and constructing art. And if art is the process by which humanity contemplates itself, finds detail in catharsis, and allows for transgression and ultimately transformation, the mask system is an instrument of unique creation capabilities. It is creating a brain of organic associative activity that reacts to its user’s assimilation of information.
What I am proposing, in brief, is a possibility to generate a research team to access and construct the foundation of such a system: from the archetypical and the artisan, to the software and algorithmic values of language that can acknowledge the subtleties in living dynamics, and thus new means of creation.
A new type of technical artist is emerging constructing compelling organisms by moving large blocks of available information.
